The coordinator of the Algonquin College public relations program, Stephen Heckbert is a fluently bilingual communications leader well-known for a creative approach and superior counsel in the most challenging of circumstances. Stephen’s communications expertise comes from years of executive-level work with the Government of Canada, the Province of New Brunswick, and diverse experience in the private sector.
A native of Prince Edward Island, Stephen has more than 20 years of experience in strategic communications, media training, public and media relations, media analysis, marketing, writing, and project management.
At Algonquin, Stephen was recognized in 2011 with an Excellence in Teaching Award given by the college’s Student’s Association. A 2003 honouree as one of Ottawa’s “40 Under 40” by the Ottawa Business Journal, Stephen has provided strategic communications advice to many senior executives and high-ranking public servants, including the New Brunswick Minister of Finance and countless others.
