John McLaughlin

John McLaughlin is a Professor of Geomatics Engineering and became UNB's 17th President and Vice-Chancellor in July 2002.
Dr. McLaughlin has been a member of several boards, including Service New Brunswick, the Research and Productivity Council, the New Brunswick Innovation Foundation, the Maritime Provinces Higher Education Commission, the Order of New Brunswick, the Premier's Roundtable on eNB, Geoconnections and the Canadian Space Agency.
He was a co-founder of two companies, one an American based technology consultancy and the other a Peruvian international development company. He is a Fellow of the Instituto Libertad Y Democracia in Peru and a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Engineering. Dr. McLaughlin has served as President of a number of regional, national and international organizations, and has just completed a term as President of the CAE.
In 2007, Dr. McLaughlin was recognized as one of Atlantic Canada's top CEO's by Atlantic Business Magazine and received the Lieutenant Governor's Award for Excellence in Public Administration.
